Day 1

shipwrecked

I awakened from a shipwreck.

outside

I found my friend who gave me some basic necessities such as clothes, and some much needed sleep. When I awoke I was in the nearest city of Cierzo, and bombarded by some people that wanted me to pay back some money, or I would lose my house. I met my companion, Jim, and we learned from the inn keeper someone on the beach needed our help. There was another lady that wanted us to find a shield and bring it to her. We headed outside the city walls.

hyena kill

We killed two hyenas on the path and took their pelts.

machete

I found a machete which will help me more than that old hatchet I had when I started out.

bandit kill

With some difficulty, we killed two bandits on the path, but taking their weapons definitely would improve our chance of survival, and all in all it was worth it. My new two-handed would be easier to wack people with, thanks to the reach.

sunset

We were losing the light, plus we were wounded and tired, and it was time to head back.

city

At last, we reached the city again.

bedtime

A full 8 hours would do us well. Perhaps tomorrow we can pay back the money and keep our warm beds.

Day 2

morning

We awoke, hopeful to pay back the money and keep our house.

tradervisit

We made a visit to the trader before embarking outside again.

tradervisit

Jim took the role of pack mule for now, picking up a large backpack :P I was too poor even after selling the stuff we found and wouldn't need.

outside

Time again now to find the man on the beach that needs our help, and then hopefully enough money to pay back our debt and keep the house.

bandits kill

Met once more by bandits, we were shot at and attacked. It was very fortunate we were able to kill them.

loots

On the beach, we saw a man that was hurt, but he was very close to two enormous squid looking creatures and we had a very close call with one of them. Although I could have used the bandage for myself, we gave it to the man instead and ran away from the evil creatures. A few chests with some stuff were found on the way. This helped us better equip for future fights. I decided to use shield and mace for more damage and survivability.

caravan

This odd little caravan we found at the top of the hill towards the beach.

hyenas kill

We killed more hyenas.

hyenas kill

We needed to get back to the city to rest and recover.

hyenas kill

Being attacked by hyenas couldn't have come at a worse time for me, especially the fact there were 3, and a bad chicken bird thing who decided to join in on the fun, too. Again, it was lucky that we managed to kill them all.

heading back

We were super tired, hurt and ready for bed.

rissa

Rissa, the Lady, was so pleased about us helping the man from the beach, she decided to let the debt be forgiven and we got to keep our house without paying!

alchemist

I still was a bit too poor for it, but I had my eyes on that alchemist set. I sold everything I didn't need from what we had found today.

sunset

Time to go to sleep in a place we now call home sweet home (for good).

Day 3

morning

Definitely slept in today, but we were completely feeling better and hoping to get rich today.

gaberries

Jim talked me in to getting a backpack, and I spent my silver on that, with my hopes high that we would certainly become rich today and I could afford that alchemist set. With all my extra space, I stopped to pick gaberries to make a nice jam today.

cave

Besides being frightened from the monsters armed with tridents sneaking up on us, and one mage monster we had to kill exercising some caution, the cave wasn't nearly as dangerous but very profitable indeed!

returning

Our late start today was the cause of it getting so dark as we got out of the cave.

returning

Both of our pockets and backpacks were full, and we trudged back with difficulty.

quest complete

We returned to the lady who had given us a quest for a silly looking red mushroom shield which we'd happened upon in the caves. She rewarded us handsomely for it and I could afford my alchemist set.

bedtime

Time to sleep.

Day 4

heading out

It was midday when we woke, and Jim picked up a tent for us this time, so we could sleep out over night, as the need arose.

bandit camp

We found a bandit camp and we were fighting in it into the night.

bandit camp

With some time spending on the lookout, we found a deserted corner of the camp and slept a while to recover from the fighting. We enjoyed a bit of food over a campfire, silly grins on our faces from all the fun and loot today.

Day 5

heading out

After our walk back to Cierzo and a good night's rest, we headed out to sell our extra goods and make some things for the road.

morning

We didn't want to walk during the night and decided to catch a few more z's... the plan being to leave just before dawn.

sleep

Waking up when it's dark out isn't easy. Let's go, Jim.

dawn

Heading out to explore.

outside

Outside, exploring.

sunrise

Sunrise.

bandit kill

We took down some bandits and looted.

purple fields

I have a fascination with this purple fields.

immaculate

We found a cave with a strange creature.

immaculate power

The creature called himself the immaculate, and he asked me to pick a gift. We agreed to pick power. After the gift was bestowed on us, we didn't notice it... perhaps it was subtle.

leaving immaculate

We left the cave to see what else we could find.

bandit hunt

Jim showing off his new axe to hunt bandits with.

looting

Jim looted a tent with some treasure.

cool hat

I got a cool hat.

new hat

Couple shot!

ruins

We found some old ruins and looted everything available.

killed shrimp

We finally killed one of the giant shrimp creatures. It put a hex on me which lasted for some time.

bandit camp

I wanted to head back, but Jim talked me in to raiding this bandit camp we found, and we got very overburdened after that, but I upgraded my weapon.

heading back

Long snail walk back, overburdened. We were too greedy to drop things.

overburdened

I've never been so happy to get back to Cierzo.

returned

We were finally able to sell our things we had looted, and I bought a fur tent and some crafting materials for life potions.

Day 6

heading out

Rissa and everyone went to the city of Bergen, so we headed out that way too.

purple fields

Walking through the purple fields again.

funny hyena

[no words] XD

ship

We saw this ship on the coast.

road to bergen

The ship had a box with hidden treasure, and Jim figured how to get it and we got some treasure. We were now close to the road to bergen.

fields

We travelled down the road and arrived at these bright green fields.

skelly

Some creatures looked too dangerous to fight, and we steered clear of them.

crab meat

I EAT CRAB MEAT

lootbox

We found this box with loot near some ruins.

bad tent

A whole lot of hell no in this tent. We exited immediately.

outside bergen

We ran into some bad powerful bandits but we killed them. Unfortunately, neither of them dropped anything valuable, and that was very disappointing.

bergen

There was this big deer with red on his chest and he was very mean and very fast, and Jim was chased all the way to Bergen. That was our closest call so far.

sleep

Since we had no place to call home here, and we were too poor to afford the luxury of beds at the inn, we set up our tents in Bergen like a couple of hobos.

Day 7

heading back

After exploring the city and looking at all the things that we could not afford, we were further disappointed by the news that there was a bandit uprising near Cierzo, and we had to head back there. We exited a different way out of the city, avoiding the murderous Rudolf looking thing.

after bandits

We were not well equipped to travel back to Cierzo, due to low travel rations. We had no choice but to counter with bandits to find salt to make rations (or find rations themselves). There was a group of bandits that knocked me out good. Jim finished them off and revived me. I was very wounded. We lugged the loot over to this trader cart where we filled our pockets with extra silver. Now we had enough rations to travel.

needs rations

We used our rations and then walked very far back to Cierzo.

heading to Cierzo

The trip was uneventful.

lighthouse

We were so looking forward to sleeping in our house.

Day 8

next morning

The next morning we made some final preparations to leave.

next morning

We needed to fight at the Fort V, so I went to the Storage area to collect any possible potion materials or bandages which would need.

next morning

We didn't find anything, so we had to head out with what we had.

heading out

We headed out to Fort V.

outside

On the path to Fort V.

fort v

There were some bandits outside the fort which we needed to kill first. One of them had a tower shield which I equpipped.

fort v

We then nervously approached the walls.

knocked out

We awakened in Cierzo, our bodies aching. Slowly, we remembered getting past the first champion and his two guards, thanks to the use of 3 trip wires and iron spikes I armed them with. We had scouted the fort, finding both friendlies but also some bad looking people. It was during this scouting trip that unfortunately that Jim fell in the depths of the fort, and there was no way he could get back. I had to fall down with him. It was there that we encountered a poison and this other blue looking monster thing and they finished us pretty easily. Thankfully, some woman had rescued us and we lived to tell another tale.

Day 9

heading back

After a great sleep and feeling much better, we set out again back to the Fort V to kill the other champions. We agreed to not descend this time again into the lower area with the monsters. By the time we headed out, it was freezing and snow had now stuck to the ground.

inside fort

During our last scouting we had found a champion mage upstairs and guards in one room, and in the lower room there was another warrior with his guards. Jim and I came to the same page that we should talk to the warrior in the lower area first (to kill him), and then the mage, considering we had no magic to counter with, it may be a difficult fight. The warrior surprised us by not immediately fighting, but instead offering us a quest. For that quest we needed to bring back some guy from Cierzo (for him to be punished). We would have to do this in one day. After much conversation, Jim and I agreed it would be best to kill the warrior and not do his quest, due to the short deadline and as not to sever our relationship with Cierzo.

cold night

The traps I set for the warrior and his archers helped us out immensely, and we won the fight more easily than we had thought was possible. We went to the mage upstairs, I set up my last two traps, and then spoke to the mage. The mage was a woman that wanted her ex husband killed. Again, we had some difficulty deciding what to do - do her quest or kill her. We learned that the ex husband was a monster, and we weren't sure if that was going to be easier than fighting her. Finally, we nervously agreed to fight the mage and her guards and again, not do the quest. The traps helped and we killed all of them fairly easily. We took all the loot and headed back to Cierzo.

caught cold

Well the fort champions hadn't killed us, but we sure felt like the cold night would. We both got very sick with colds.

made it back

We trudged back to Cierzo, the cold drained us from all our energy. However, we made it, and were rewarded for our victories over the champions at the Fort V - rewarded with an awesome helmet, and Jim gave it to me!

Day 10

heading out

We needed to go back to Bergen to talk to Rissa, so we headed out once again in the cold.

cold again

We struggled on our long journey to the road to Bergen.

to bergen

Jim was literally dying of the cold, and he could only sit by the fire and shiver. To make matters worse, we didn't have enough rations to get to Bergen. I had no choice but to leave Jim and go hunting for food. Luckily, I was able to find a bird/chicken thing in the old bandit camp we'd been before at, and I killed it and brought back the meat to Jim. We were able to continue down the road. Fortunately, the area near Bergen was inland and warmer, and we walked to Bergen fairly easily. At some miracle, the murderous deer was not there at the city gate anymore, and we walked in.

house in Bergen

In Bergen, we graduated from our hobo life and purchased a nice house for 500 silver.
